扬帆三月 纵情海南阿罗哈杯”2013环海南岛国 际大帆船赛
Grand opening of a new Chinese restaurant? Part of the menu? User instructions for Chinese firecrackers? NO NO NO !!! Team Redan goes China !
We will participate in The Hainan International Regatta 2013 from 20st-30st of March 2013 (click pic for website)
End of January all members of Team Redan received a message from our bowman Mark Huizinga: subject “Changrila Cup”. It appeared that Mark got notice of the Hainan Ocean race via his personal network (Martin Hingst | Gaastra) and that the organization was providing room for 6 international teams. The start of a fierce and quick discussion over email. “Ever sailed China?” “Where is Hainan?” “Hope I can arrange time off from work!” “What boat will we be sailing?” The first google searches washed away all obstacles. This is bounty Island Eventually we made a team of 8 within days and Team Redan is on ! Registered and preparations can begin. The organization will provide six Beneteau’s Oceanis 40 for a standard class Race, hotel accommodation and a lot of authentic Chinese dinners. Gaastra Sails being a sponsor!

The race itself will consist of a 470 NM round the Island race starting in Sanya with a stopover in the North. In Sanya and at the stopover there will be 4 days of In-Port races. For China and Asia the event is big thing and growing rapidly – Opening Ceremony and Closing Prize Ceremony ! What a ball !
